ABC Radio Networks To Complete Rollout of X-Digital Systems PRO-4 Receiver. Pioneering partnership streamlines content delivery and increases accountability while offering unprecedented flexibility for both advertisers and affiliates Dallas, TX, – (7/8/2008) – ABC Radio Networks is in the home stretch of its planned rollout of the X-Digital Systems (XDS) PRO-4 Receiver to its complete affiliate base of more than 4,000 radio stations. The Network was the first U.S. radio customer to partner with XDS – helping to develop and launch the new audio delivery platform. The initial rollout to affiliates began in January, 2007. The Network plans to complete activation across its entire base of stations by the end of the year. “Implementing this new technology is giving our affiliate stations and advertisers a competitive advantage while revolutionizing the way audio content is delivered and tracked in the radio industry,” said Christine Ianuzzi, Senior Vice President of Engineering for ABC Radio Networks. “We’re proud of the partnership we’ve established with XDS and the work we’ve done together to refine this platform, which has become a new feature in our customer service commitment to our affiliates and satellite resale clients.” The XDS PRO-4 is the first digital receiver capable of allowing copy regionalization and splits at the station level in all market sizes as well as store-forward technology with time-shifting ability. Additional product features include a Web-based dashboard for affiliates to schedule their program play-out; a return path from the receiver to the network detailing all output with time and date coding; and the ability to view program schedules, ISCI log information and affiliated station program lists. “We’re very pleased with ABC’s professionalism in successfully deploying and upgrading their infrastructure to meet today’s competitive market,” said Ian Lerner, President of X-Digital. “The new capabilities enabled by the XDS-PRO line of receivers provide ABC Radio Networks with fully integrated features enabling superior content management and tracking never before possible in network radio.” The rollout of the XDS PRO-4 is part of an overall initiative by ABC Radio Networks to transform its infrastructure and many of its business platforms to enhance delivery and communication to and from affiliate stations of both programming and commercial distribution. “Being able to offer copy regionalization and an affiliate scheduler allows multiple versions of campaigns and spots to air simultaneously,” said Michael Connolly, Senior Vice President of Sales for ABC Radio Networks. “Advertisers will see real value in the ability to target their campaigns for specific station formats or listener demographics, which is a tremendous sales tool for our organization and a significant benefit to them.” # # # Contact: Louis Adams, ABC Radio Networks 972/448-3150 About ABC Radio Networks ABC Radio Networks has 4,400 affiliate radio stations reaching more than 105 million listeners in the 12+ demographic each week.
