X-1R Hybrid IP & Satellite Receiver
The X-1R receiver is a digital multimedia receiver used by stores, hotels and residences to receive
audio/video/data. It is a web appliance or as a satellite receiver when connected to a satellite antenna.
The X-1R is used in a variety of settings to reliably receive live streams, files and entire schedules of
multimedia programming. The internal SD Flash can be used to deliver targeted programming and commercials.
Each receiver is uniquely addressable so each receiver can have custom content. For example, in retail, the
shoe department can receive different programming and advertisements than a receiver installed in the home
appliance department.
The X-1R provides live decoding of broadcast media. Whether via satellite or Ethernet connection, the
X-1R provides stream decoding in multiple formats including MP2/MP3/AAC/WMA in audio and MPEG2 in video.
The X-1R incorporates local flash, a local hard disk or a mounted NFS storage device so the unit can receive
and store multimedia content. A web interface allows users configure and manage content on the storage device.
Media on the device can be accessible to any PC on the LAN.
Ads and programs can be targeted to specific X-1R receivers or groups of receivers. Each X-1R device is uniquely
addressable via physical ID, Logical ID and Group ID which provides maximum flexibility in configuring a network.
Each receiver can also be configured manually.
The X-1R is capable of "recording" and playing back any broadcast channel. This enables the network/station to time
shift content to the proper air-time. Ads can be scheduled for the proper day-part even on time-shifted programming.
The X-1R is able to interface to a PC or network via Ethernet interface or directly interface to mobile digital music
players (MP3 players) via its USB interface if authorized by the NMS. In satellite mode, the X-1R receiver can be operated as
a server to stream to other slave X-1s. Also the X-1R web interface provides for reporting on what aired and alerts network
operators on the health of the receivers. This provides broadcasters and advertisers verification that their advertisements
were aired.
