Maui Audio Satellite Receiver

Maui Audio Satellite Receiver

The MAUI is a professional DVB audio receiver/modulator that enables audio broadcasters to distribute content via satellite. The MAUI receives the content, converts it into FM audio signals and then distributes the content via COAX, IP or over-the-air via the built-in FM modulator.

There are two primary applications:
  1. Content can be sent via satellite to an apartment building or multiple dwelling unit (MDU) where up to 1,000 channels of content is then distributed via existing standard COAX to each dwelling or office. Visit our Multiple Dwelling Unit Solution page to learn more.

  2. "Drop-In Radio Spectrum" - an entire radio spectrum can be established with a single MAUI Receiver connected to a radio amplifier. Visit our Drop-In Radio Spectrum Solution page to learn more.
SATELLITE CHANNEL
Each MAUI uses four demodulators to aggregate up to 384 unique DVB streams. Having four demodulators allows the DVB content to be collected from multiple transponders or satellites.

MPEG DECODERS
Each MAUI uses 48 DSPs to decode the 384 digital audio streams. These high performance DSPs allow the MAUI to be small in size (2U) and run with minimal power.

FM MODULATOR
Each MAUI can modulate 200 FM carriers with the digital audio streams as the source. The modulator can be tailored to operate over standard FM frequency ranges. Each carrier can be individually controlled in power or turned off completely.

CASCADE
Each MAUI uses four ASI I/O channels to allow for external DVB streams to be introduced into the MAUI system. This can allow external systems to be aggregated with the satellite signals to compose a consolidated content offering into the modulated FM carriers.

LIVE CONTENT
Each MAUI can be expanded using the "LIVE" audio input card. This allows the user to insert analog audio into the modulated carriers.

ADDRESSABILITY
Each MAUI is uniquely addressable via physical ID, Logical ID and Group ID which provides maximum flexibility in configuring a network. Each station can also be configured manually. Up to 32 million clients can be addressed in each network.
